Proctor feels that he should confess to be involved with witchcraft and he ask the opinion of Elizabeth if he should confess and over period of time he has the burned of guilt over his shoulder . Then he chose to confesses and Hathorne and Danforth are surprised that he going to confesses and they go headed and grab the papers to write down everything he says.. Proctor ask why they are writing everything he say and that he would be hung in front of the church door for what he knows.
